AIA G702

The standard American Institute of Architects payment application form used on commercial construction projects.

AIA Document G702, 'Application and Certificate for Payment,' is the cover sheet for a contractor's periodic request for progress payment on a commercial construction project. Combined with AIA G703 (the continuation sheet showing line-item breakdown), it's the industry-standard format for pay applications. The G702 summarizes the original contract sum, change orders, work completed, retainage held, and the current amount due. The architect certifies the payment application before the owner pays. GCs receive G702s from subs and send G702s to owners.
